Dept. Work and Pensions Support For Local Businesses
'As a newly appointed Relationship Manager for the Solihull area, Roger Varley from the Department for Work and Pensions would like to highlight a number of initiatives that are currently being offered by the Job centre to help with your existing and future recruitment/training needs. All these services are free of charge and are increasingly being used by employers to ensure local talent is harnessed and given the skills and training they need to meet the demands of the local employment market. One such initiative is the 'Work Experience 10,000' launch. This is an initiative in which the Job centre and local Councils are working together to secure 10,000 work experience placements across businesses within Birmingham and Solihull. This will give Solihull residents, particularly those aged between 18-24 years, the opportunity to gain vital skills and experience within the workplace, but also help businesses recruit their future workforce.

- Trainee-ships - How an employer's input is vital to help 16-24 year olds become 'work ready'
Apprenticeships - 'Grow your own' employees and get paid for it!
